Mossberg 835 Slug & Scope Preference |

Hello - I recently purchased a Mossberg 835 Deer & Turkey Combo (12 Gauge pump) with rifled/ cantilevered & turkey barrel. For deer hunting, does
anyone recommend a specific slug for the Mossberg? I want to set this up for hunting this fall and was thinking of purchasing a Nikon 2X7 for the rifled
barrel and a 4X32 scope for the turkey barrel. Any advise or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Get the 2x7 for sure, they are great scopes, I have one.
4x on a turkey gun you are going to shoot 40 yards with is kinda overkill in my opinion. A Red Dot scope might be a better option if you "need" a scope on your turkey gun.

My buddy shoots Winchester Supreme Sabot and he really likes em.Kinda expensive but you get what you pay for.

Honestly I dont know a thing about shotgun slugs in a rifled barrel. But I do agree with "you get what you pay for". Lightfields are suppose to be
good slugs, my grandpa uses Brenneke in his 20 gauge.
I have 1 slug gun, I actaully gave it to my grandpa because he fell in love with it but he probably wont use it because its an open sighted 12 gauge. I got a deal a few years ago on Remington Sluggers, $1 a box, thats all I have ever shot in it and I have only put 5 rounds through it.

This is what I did with my 870 I went out and bought a few different boxes and went to the range and started shooting also make sure you clean your barrel alot
bc with the rifled barrel some of the lead will build up in the rifling.Like Dk17hmr said lightfield and brenneke are good slugs I have shot both of them and
will do just fine.I prefer the Hastings 3in slugs out of my 870 but every gun is different.Try not to shoot rifled slugs out of a rifled barrel I would go with
a Sabot just bc rifled slugs are meant for the smooth bore slug barrels.The rifled slugs are really soft and will build up in the rifling.You can shoot them
for hunting I just would not go and shoot a bunch of boxes of them at the range.
