I use 12.5gr of Lil Gun and a 50gr Jacketed hollow point in my Hornet, dont remember the FPS off hand but somewhere around 2600fps. It doesnt seem to like the 35gr V-max but my 218 Bee does, 3150fps out of the Bee into a .246 hole at 50 yards.

I use small pistol primers in the Hornet actually shrank my groups when that was the only thing changed.
I also shoot cast bullets in it for a "in the yard" rifle, generally I load cast bullets with Trailboss and that is ussally a case full.

Both my Hornet and Bee are NEF Handi rifles.
Alot of guys look down on them, but 1" out of a $200 rifle is the same as 1" out of a $700 rifle.

My Hornet has a 5-15 Bushnell and I can constistantly put 5 50gr hollow points into 1" at 100 yards with it.

I also shoot 40gr V-Max or Nosler Ballistic tips out of it with a max or very close to max load of Lil Gun. My go to load is the 50gr load though.

I have a box 34gr Hollow Point Varmint Nightmare bullets on order from MidSouth Shooter supply, box of 500 cost $50 so I figured I would try them, they are on backorder though.

I really like Lil' Gun in my hornet and bee, burns clean and groups nicely. 2400 is suppose to be a good powder for it but I dont ge teh velocity out of it I do with Lil Gun.
I can shoot hornet/bee cheaper than I can buy a box of 17hmr so I use them for everything you would use a 17 for.
