I took the quad out with the plow and pushed rows and rows of snow off of my back plot and they were all over it. They scraped a couple of patches themselves
around the fire pit area and were mingling around......but further back I Scraped the snow off with the blade and there was alot of green dormant plants
underneath. I am going to do this in February as well....they should be healthy in this hard winter.
These pictures don't do it justice, I will get some better pics in a few weeks with a closeup of the snow scraped back. I will have more time and will do a Huge section of it. I had deer in and out of there all day long and so did my neighbor.

Spring & Summer mix, it has been there 3 years in a row now. Alot of Deer yard up in my area because I have alot of Cedar on my property and a Huge stand
of cedar at the back of my parcel. But they still come to this plot year round. It is loaded with ladino clover and chicory. Next time I am up there I will
take some pics of a bigger area after I plow it and will take some closeups as well. We were hooking up a New antenna for the New "DIGITAL" area of
TV and were in a hurry and didn't get the best of pics.

Winter OC in Illinois | #5 | ||
|
Those pics are awsome! I was in Illinois for late ML season and we had deer coming to the Spring Blend every day. We got some real good video of the deer eating the Spring Blend. The OC really does work. You would not think deer would be coming to clover and chicory in the dead of winter, but they are! I love the pics of the deer in the snow. Thats what you get when you don't skim on seed to cut costs. Not saying the other companies dont have a decent product, they just skim on the quality of seed. They use 1/2 good ssed and 1/2 marginal seed. We use 100% of the best clover and chicory seed so it continues to work, even in winter. |

After years of field testing , and believing that land managers deserve a blend of seed that has the highest crude protien levels available, Southern Illinois Trophy Outfitters designed Outfitters Choice(TM) Outfitters Choice(TM)is a seed blend of the utmost premium quality seed on the market. All of the seeds in our blend are draught resistant and were chosen specifically for the production of trophy whitetails. Spring Blend Seed Details
30% Kopu II Kopu II was selected for high stolen density, persistence under grazing, high yield, and excellent season long growth. Kopu II has a crude protein of over 30% and out performs all other clovers on the market. 60% Jumbo Ladino Jumbo Ladino grows faster and is more vigorous than other white clovers. Jumbo is characterized by its excellent nutritional value, and large leaf size-up to three inches wide in optimum growing conditions. 10% Oasis Chicory Oasis Brand Forage Chicory is a high-yielding, broadleaved perennial herb that has excellent feed value for deer. Oasis also breaks winter dormancy early, so it has a longer growing season. This provides your deer herd high quality feed when they need it most. Spring Blend is 100% Inoculated An Inoculant is a serum or antigenic substance introduced to a seed that increases productivity or boosts immunity. Inoculants are a key
component to healthy perennial food plots. They contain rhizobium bacteria, which are necessary for converting nitrogen from the air into ammonia nitrogen, a
form usable by plants. The benefits include improvements to the soil fertility, a better root system, and maximum plant growth....

Needs to be planted in April or May. It will then last you 4 years and just need to fertilize twice a year. That is what I do and works great.
*ALSO I am going up this weekend and am going to try and plow my entire field off and take some pics of it closeup and hopefully it will be covered in DEER again. |

Fixer,
The seed you see here is the perennial, Spring Blend. We offer an annual as well, Fall Blend, that contains Appin Turnips, Buck Forage Oats and Triticale. It is a great attraction and nutrtion plot. |
