Just a heads up......No one offers a 35 Whelen in a lever action. If you are looking for a Whelen and not a 35 Remington (pretty common) your best bet would be to buy a Browning BLR in 30-06 and have it rebarreled.

I dont know sounds like my suggestion is getting custom rifle, you also state you will probably get a custom rifle if you find one. Personally if it were me that wanted a 35 Whelen in a lever action, I would buy a lever action 30-06 and have it rebarreled to 35 Whelen with a good quality barrel. Than I would have exactly what I wanted not what someone wanted. If you did find a 35 Whelen lever action from years before it was standardized by Remington (1987), who knows what the actual chambering is. Chamber reamers can be ground to dimension that the wildcatter wanted. So if you do find a Lever action 35 Whelen that was built before 1987 have the chamber cast to tell you what exactly it is chambered for because chances are its not the same 35 Whelen case on the Remington is producing today.
