Update for team "Jake & Elwood"
Larry had a successful hunt. Yesterday (4.27.08) @ 6:30 am he had 2 hens fly down from their night roost. He watched them for an hour. At 7:30 am a Tom appeared from out of the wooded hedge row. The Tom saw his decoy fanned a few times then proceded quickly to his decoy. He then gave the decoy a few pecks and moved 5 feet away. Larry took the shot and got the bird. I did not arrive at camp until 10:30 am. The turkey had already been tagged and plucked. I have no weight available. This bird had a 9.5 beard and 7/8 spurs. Knowing the stats on Jeremy's bird this bird was not bigger in any of the categories. I will not hunt until 5.10.08. There were 2 more Toms sited. Maybe the mine will be bigger. Its up to "The Man!" Way to go Jeremy!

Nice job team jake and elwood,Lets see some pics.We went out sunday morning and heard a few coming off the roost but did not see a bird untill it was time to
go and it was a lone hen.We did have some deer come into our turkey decoys they were pretty intrested in them and that was it for our hunt this weekend
hopefully going out this weekend seeing how our season ends this weekend and team head hunters still has to fill 2 more tags.

Sam got this one sat am, figured it would be his last day to hunt so he popped the first one he saw and was back early, not a contest winner but its bigger
than mine, oh yeah thats right i havent gotten one YET!! Saw 2 coon this am, one just about walked into my deke before he saw it then he freaked
 and ran about a 20yard circle around it through the corn stubble and headed for
the river.

Nice bird sam!Glad to see some guys getting birds and good luck to everybody who's hunt has not started yet.Here is a tip for you turkey hunters.Try and
set up in a cut corn field right now these birds are looking for insects in the dirt.The toms will really be strutting for hens theses next couple of weeks so
if you can fool the hens you are sure to bag a tom.Remember this competition is just for fun anybody who shoots a bird whether it is a jake or a old tom is a
winner and I am not saying that because our bird is in the lead I just know how smart these birds are and how hard it is to hunt them and you have to be a good
hunter to get one.Our season is over this weekend and I now some of you guys have late season tags and me and jeremy have been talking and maybe we might be
able to help some of you guys get a bird.I will talk more with him about that And we will let everybody know what the scoop is on that
