success with grains/ honey/molasses, or meat scraps/fish/etc, or the pastry/donuts?

I have always used grains(bulk granola) specifically and threw some chopped up Smoked slab bacon rind around the crib. In 2009 using this bait combo in Baraga,
13 hunters shot 13 bears. Also fill a spray botttle half with vanilla extract and half strawberry extract. After you bait give a few sprays on the trees around
the crib and around your stand, really seems to draw them in.

I find the best is donut's, if you use meat and they eat a piece of rotten meat they will get sick and probably not come back, also I had success with
marshmallow's covered with pancake syrup

Thanks guys, I guess I wont go catch a bunch of suckers and carp for bait, will just stick to the corn/ molasses mix and throw in some fresh off the tree pears
and apples, and maybe some grapes. Will be putting out the fryer grease also.

I have used salmon and they don't seem to want it. Skunks like it tho. I also have tried pork and beef.....not much luck there either. Barrells of crushed granola bars, candy bars, syrup and marshmallow or fruit filling seems to have worked best for me. I have not tried pastries and
breads, but friends have, and have had good luck with them. Pour some fryer grease aroound your bait site so the bears walk in it and track it out thru the
woods. It will help attract other bears. They also like popcorn and peanut butter. I have also heard of people using dog food.

Try to keep things small in size so they stay at the site to eat. Otherwise they will grab and go.

Good luck !
