Dirt can stay on site, or I will give the dirt away. I will use about 100 yards myself for fill not even a scratch.

I would check with the DNR and get all the rules and guidelines.. will save you money and headace.
My friend has a pond and I know a few things.. unless its stream fed and deep and cold with moving water.. forget about trout. pond, still I would make the
pond deeper than 15 feed.. deep as poss. in the center.. then 15 feet to the edge. Leave one side of it about 4 feet deep.. going out 6 feet as a ledge for the
sun to grow weeds.. these will feed bugs, ect.. to feed the minnows, ect. that will feed the fish. So after the water settles a bit.. and the weeds begin to
grow and bugs ect.. you should add some minnows, salamanders, frogs, crayfish..
you have to establish a food chain before you add the fish. then you could add a few perch, bluegills and crappies. After they establish, add a few largemouth
bass or pike to control them. You can hang a bug light over one end of the pond to feed them also.

First thing you`ll want to do is to contact the Dominant Nazi Rulers (DNR), `cause they`ll have a butt load of rules that you will follow, or they`ll make you
fill it back in at your expense.

There`s a right way, a wrong way, and the State`s way. You will have to do it the State`s way.

Sucks, but true!

Yes I'm going to hire this pond done. I have been in contact with a guy who uses 2 Excavator and a D10 Cat. I have a high water table with many springs so
I hope not to use a liner. Whom ever doe's the job, will have to really move to keep ahead of the water. I have one price so far of about 6,800 to dig the
pond. I guess I will have lots of dirt to give away. I will need 300 yards my self but that isn't even a scratch of the dirt I will have. I'm also
checking if any one can blow it, I have herd that is available I just don't know where

2 acres? Small Lake, not a pond, lol Installed many myself. 1st, is pretty good size job.But you could do it with a good excavator or loader and a good dozer
though. Keep in mind if hiring out, roughly 60.00 an hour. Have questions, electric near pond? For trout you would want good clean water, some sort of
filtration, a skimmer pump with filtration basket works well and also keeps water moving. 2 acres is good size, maybe want a couple of these. Also may think of
a bubbler for winter and an aerator for warm months If no electric, Bass, Gills, etc, any warm water fish should do well at that depth. There are many fish
freindly chemicals to control weed growth. Could house many fish in a 2 acre pond, suggest 20-30 to start. Wait a good week after fill to let settle. Will you
install liner? There are many out there. We used one this last year that was more like a tyvec house wrap as apposed to a rubber liner. Tough stuff and a
little less costly.Suggest a ledge ten feet out from edge...
